Originally from Houston, Amanda E. Scott is a Latine writer currently pursuing a PhD in creative writing at Western Michigan University, where she has served as Editor-in-Chief and Nonfiction Editor of Third Coast. She is also co-founder and Assistant Executive Editor of Porter House Review. Her writing has appeared in Crab Orchard Review, Entropy, Gulf Coast, Hayden's Ferry Review, HAD, Juked, New South, The Pinch, The Rumpus, Quarter After Eight, and has received support from Bread Loaf and The Kenyon Review Writers Workshop. She is currently at work on a novel.

An educator with more than a decade of experience, she has taught numerous undergraduate courses in composition, technical writing, creative writing, and editing, as well as graduate-level courses in publishing. Her research, which explores the intersection between inclusive writing practices, ethical design, and social inequities, has appeared in Technical Communication Quarterly and The Journal of the Assembly for Expanded Perspectives on Learning.
